Tim Boelaars is an independent art director, designer and illustrator focused on brand identity, editorial work, iconography, and design systems.

With more than 15 years of experience, his expertise lies in art direction, graphic design, branding, logos, icons, as well as creating illustrations.

His style is characterized by minimalism, vibrant colors, distinctive line work and geometric compositions.

In his free time Tim draws inspiration from gardening, hiking, mixing electronic music, making fresh pasta and birdwatching.

He was named a Young Gun by the Art Director’s Club in 2012. Tim is also the founder of Plant22, a collaborative co-working space in Amsterdam that helps creative professionals to focus and collaborate.

Throughout his career, Tim has collaborated with a diverse range of clients, from major brands to smaller agencies.

Some notable names among his clients include Apple, IBM, Land Rover, National Geographic, The New Yorker, The New York Times, and WeTransfer. For illustration work, Tim is represented by Agent Pekka
